Something New
As many of you know, this week was Bobs birthday (and my moms but this is all about Bob). He started the day with his girls bringing him Starbucks in bed. After school we took him to Sophies basketball game and out to a special dinner. He said it was a nice birthday. It is definitely interesting to hit a milestone like a birthday in the midst of all this. (The picture I posted on Feb 2 was from last summer). Yesterday we took him to a Korean BBQ for his birthday. Still determined to get well as quickly as possible, he is walking slowly with a cane, taking the wheelchair any place he has uncertain terrain and becoming a big fan of swim therapy. We see the orthopedic surgeon at the beginning of this week for the appt to determine follow-up surgery date on his left wrist. Funny story, as Bob and I sat in his primary doctor's office Tuesday and listened to a review of the list of injuries, we heard something NEW: right metatarsal fracture. Ah, Bobs pain in his right wrist, mostly explained away as 'overuse,' is vindicated. I suppose the left wrist being shattered was drawing the most attention. I cringe when I think back seven weeks and picture a cast on both hands, Gods provision indeed. Prayer requests: The surgery plans, right hand report and re-building of muscles. Knowing what is coming next will be very helpful. It's an added challenge to simply live for the next dr appt and not beyond.
Have a great Sunday everyone!!
