Update Day 10 after Bob's Fall
Recovery from pelvic fractures takes six (to eight) weeks and a few nights ago, I told the girls 'Daddy has one week done and only five to go!' Bob has been working on sitting, standing, transfer to a wheelchair and leg mobility. Picture this: no weight bearing on his left leg, broken left wrist - so no leaning on the wrist, all weight on right leg and right wrist - all with excruciating pain. They built an add-on so he could use his left elbow for support. The girls and I have experienced some 'angel moments' - Christmas list and tree shopping, house cleaning, dinners, wheelchair prep at home and many other kindnesses including all of your words and prayers. All of us have seemed to embrace this 'Adventure Christmas' which we have determined it to be. The word Advent has become more real to my heart this Christmas. From the time Isaiah told Israel of a future hope, a baby who would become our forever king, they waited and waited. Bob and I and the girls have felt 'waiting' to our core, waiting for the Drs, the news, the plans, the pain relief, the healing and the recovery. Just as the Israelites trusted God for the birth of the baby who would save them all, we trust God to carry us to the day of recovery. Because in both cases that day will come. Jesus is the hope we walk with and toward everyday, not just at Christmas. Prayer requests: the dizziness is still present (but might be decreasing), stamina and pain management - if he could time relief around PT he could accomplish more in a session. Love to all of you!
