Dancing Through Life
Jackie danced her heart out. She was a part of the team and a part of the bigger picture and she shined brightest when she was doing what she was designed to do - praise the Lord. At 10 years old, she was on the Powerhands team. The team of kids who lead the worship hand motions. On this day, the Powerhands team led from the stage in Aliso Viejo Park while a thousand kids and parents watched and danced along. Jackie's 4-year-old sister, Rachel, stood in awe from the grass below She was proud of her big sister and happy to dance and spin as she cheered her on.
Fast forward 19 years to a BBQ at the beach. A beautiful mom looked me in the eyes and asked the question, “Do you remember Jackie from Powerhands?”
“Absolutely”
“She is with Jesus now.” “And so is her sister, Rachel.”
As children ministers, we are constantly planting seeds. Much of the time we do not know if the seed blossomed or was tragically cut short. Whatever part of the story God has destined for us is the part we do for His glory.
It is an honor to invest in the life of a child. Be encouraged. Keep dancing through life and pass it on.
